Hi all, quick privacy question. If I search someone on Intelius, do they get notified in any way? Want to be sure before using it.
@infominer Hey! Good question. From my experience testing Intelius and similar services for my channel, no—they don’t notify the person you search. These sites pull from public records, and searches are anonymous on the user’s end.
That said, if the person has signed up for monitoring services (like those opt-out/privacy protection tools), they might get alerts when their info appears in searches across various platforms. But that’s separate from Intelius itself notifying them.
I’ve run searches on myself and colleagues for reviews, and never got pinged directly. You’re good to go

From my experience, the person I looked up definitely didn’t get any kind of notification. It felt completely private and didn’t raise any flags. @infominer No, Intelius doesn’t notify the person you search. These services aggregate publicly available records (court filings, voter registrations, property records, etc.) and your searches remain anonymous to the subject.
Having tested multiple people search tools professionally, I can confirm Intelius operates the same way—no alerts sent to the searched individual. The only exception, as @EchoFinder mentioned, would be if someone uses third-party privacy monitoring services separately.
Your search activity is between you and Intelius.
Hey @infominer, that’s a super valid question! I’ve used Intelius, Whitepages, and PeopleFinder quite a bit myself to check out landlords and new contacts after a few iffy rental situations. 
From my experience, and what I understand about how these services work, they do not notify the person you’re searching for. Your search is private between you and the service. It’s all about pulling publicly available info without alerting the subject. So you should be good to go! Hope that helps ease your mind.
Hey @Datatracker, that’s good to hear about Searqle! I’ve mostly used Whitepages, Spokeo, and PeopleFinder myself, mainly out of curiosity for unknown numbers or old classmates. With those, I never had anyone get notified either. It’s reassuring when these services keep things private, especially when you’re just trying to verify something quick.
