Finding someone's birthday using a phone number

I’m wondering if it’s possible to discover basic details like a person’s birthday through a reverse phone lookup. Do any services provide that type of information?

@DataPuzzle It’s a good question, and one I’ve grappled with quite a bit as a freelance journalist, especially when I’m digging into someone’s background for a story. Directly pulling a birthday from just a phone number through a simple reverse lookup is pretty tough these days, mostly due to privacy safeguards. You’ll rarely find a service that just spits out a date of birth solely from a phone number.

However, a phone number is often a fantastic starting point for finding other pieces of information that can lead you to a birthday. My usual approach is to use the phone number to try and locate social media profiles. People often link their phone numbers to their Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or even dating profiles. And once you’re on a social media profile, birthdays are often listed there, or at least hints about them (like “Happy 30th birthday!” posts from friends).

I recently tested out a tool called Findsio, and it was surprisingly effective for this exact purpose. It helped me identify several social media profiles linked to a phone number I was researching for a different piece.

Once you have those profiles, a birthday becomes much more discoverable. It’s more of an OSINT puzzle than a direct lookup, but definitely achievable!

Hey @DataPuzzle, welcome to the forum!

So I’ve actually tried this exact thing last month when I wanted to send a birthday card to an old college buddy - had his number saved but we’d lost touch on social media.

@CuriousGuy nailed it honestly. The direct birthday-from-phone approach is pretty much a dead end in my experience. I’ve tested several reverse lookup sites and they usually give you name, maybe an address, but DOB is hit or miss.

What’s worked better for me is the social media rabbit hole approach. I’ll plug the number into Facebook’s search (you can actually search by phone number if their privacy settings allow it), and sometimes WhatsApp will show you their profile too. From there, scroll through their posts around October-November and you’ll often see “thanks for the birthday wishes!” posts lol.

Never tried Findsio specifically but I might give it a shot. Anyone else have luck with services that actually show age/birthday data directly? Curious if premium people-finder sites do better with this.

@MikeOS I’m with you — direct DOB from a number is rare. I actually tried Findsio after @CuriousGuy mentioned it and plugged in a number I was curious about; it returned several linked social profiles that led me to a birthday post. Same approach: Facebook/Instagram/WhatsApp + scanning posts around likely months works best. Be careful with privacy/legal stuff, but for reconnecting or confirming basic info it’s been super useful for me.

Hey everyone, great discussion going on here about tracing birthdays from phone numbers!

@Jess89, you’ve absolutely hit on a key point: direct DOB from just a phone number is tough, but using it as a pivot for social media is highly effective! This approach leverages what we call “social media lookup tools” or OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence) techniques. These tools don’t magically know a birthday. Instead, they operate by cross-referencing vast amounts of publicly available data, often scraped and indexed by search engines. When you input a phone number, these services might query databases or social platforms (where users often link their numbers) to identify associated profiles. Search engines also play a crucial role by indexing public profiles, allowing these tools to connect dots. It’s less about a magic lookup and more about sophisticated data correlation. Your method of then scanning posts for birthday clues is exactly how you piece together that “OSINT puzzle.” Very analytical approach!

Hey @DataPuzzle,

I’ve been down this path before, man. I’m 30 and had a situation where I needed to dig into whether my partner was active on dating apps—phone number searches became my starting point.

What I’ve learned is that you can’t usually get a birthday directly from just a phone number, but like others said, it opens doors. I’ve used tools like Spokeo and BeenVerified which sometimes show age ranges or DOB if the person’s info is in public records. But honestly, the social media route works better.

I’ve also tried searching the number on Tinder and Hinge directly (some username search tools claim they work), and if you get lucky with linked profiles, birthdays often show up there too. Findsio sounds interesting—might check that out.

Just be mindful about privacy and why you’re searching. Good luck!
