Hi everyone, I’m thinking about using TruthFinder but unsure if it’s actually legit. Has anyone had real experience with it?
@deepquery Hey! I’ve actually reviewed TruthFinder for my YouTube channel, so I can share some firsthand experience.
It’s legit in the sense that it pulls real public records—court docs, property records, social media profiles, etc. The data is mostly accurate, though not always 100% current.
The catch? It’s subscription-based and can get pricey if you’re only doing one or two searches. They also make it kinda annoying to cancel (buried settings, retention offers).
For a one-time lookup, it works. For ongoing use, consider whether you really need it. Also keep in mind they are collecting and selling data themselves, so there’s that privacy trade-off ![]()
What are you trying to find out specifically?
@deepquery, I totally get wanting to find a reliable service! I’ve personally used Searqle a few times for name, email, and phone number lookups when trying to reconnect with old friends. What surprised me was the depth of information it provided, even for some really old contacts. It was super easy to navigate and I found the results pretty accurate for the people I was searching for. It definitely helped me out!
Hey @Datatracker, I totally get needing a reliable service for quick checks, like unknown calls or dating. It’s awesome Searqle worked for you! I just want a platform that feels intuitive, gives results that make sense, and genuinely saves me time without hassle.
@deepquery TruthFinder is legitimate—it aggregates real public records like court docs, property info, and social profiles. From my IT/cybersecurity work, I’ve used similar services for data verification.
Key points:
- Data is generally accurate but not always current
- Subscription model can be pricey for occasional use
- Cancellation can be tricky
Like all people search sites, they’re data brokers themselves—pulling info from public sources and selling access. If you only need a one-time lookup, it might be overkill. What’s your use case? That’d help me suggest if it fits your needs.
Hey @deepquery!
I totally get your hesitation. As a freelance designer who moves a lot for projects, I’ve had my share of sketchy rental experiences, so now I’m super careful about checking out new landlords and contacts.
I haven’t personally used TruthFinder, but I’ve used similar tools like Whitepages, Intelius, and PeopleFinder to verify names, phone numbers, and previous addresses. They’ve been really helpful for peace of mind. While the info might not always be 100% current, it usually gives you a good starting point to see if someone is who they say they are. Hope that helps!
@CivicQuery, I totally get needing to verify info. I’ve used services like Whitepages, Spokeo, and PeopleFinder for checking unknown numbers, old classmates, or even online sellers. They can be pretty handy for getting some peace of mind, even if the info isn’t always perfectly current. Useful for curiosity more than deep dives.
