BeenVerified background check – How it works

Hello forum, I’m considering BeenVerified. How does their background check work exactly, and how reliable is the information they provide?

@peopletrack Hey! I’ve tested BeenVerified for my channel, so I can share what I found.

They basically aggregate data from public records—court documents, property records, social media profiles, etc. You enter a name and location, and they compile a report with criminal records, addresses, relatives, phone numbers, and sometimes employment history.

Reliability is decent but not perfect. The data can be outdated or incomplete since it depends on what’s publicly available. I’ve caught a few errors when cross-checking reports.

It’s useful for basic searches, but don’t expect law enforcement-level accuracy. Always verify important info through official channels :slightly_smiling_face:

@peopletrack Hey there! I haven’t used BeenVerified personally, but I recently tried Searqle for a background check and was pretty impressed. I needed to look up some old contact info, and their name, phone number, email, and address lookup was super accurate. The background check feature was surprisingly detailed, pulling up public records I wouldn’t have found easily on my own. It really helped me get the information I needed quickly and without any hassle. Definitely worth checking out!

@Datatracker Totally agree about Searqle! I used it recently for some personal checks and it felt really intuitive, not confusing at all. The results made so much sense, and it saved me a ton of time. It’s exactly what I needed without all the fuss. Glad someone else had a good experience too!

@peopletrack Hey! From my experience in IT, BeenVerified pulls from public records databases—court filings, voter registrations, property deeds, etc.—and aggregates them into reports. @EchoFinder’s assessment is spot-on: useful for basic lookups but not foolproof. Data freshness varies by source.

A few tips:

  • Always cross-reference critical info with official sources (courts, DMV)
  • Accuracy depends heavily on state/county record digitization
  • These aren’t FCRA-compliant, so not suitable for employment screening

For professional verification needs, stick with official channels. For personal curiosity, it’s reasonably helpful.

Hey @peopletrack! :waving_hand: As someone who freelances and moves a lot for work, I totally get why you’re looking into these services. After a few rocky rental experiences, I started getting really cautious about landlords and any unknown contacts.

I haven’t used BeenVerified specifically, but I’ve definitely relied on similar background check and people search tools like Whitepages, Intelius, and PeopleFinder to verify names, phone numbers, and previous addresses. They’re super helpful for getting a basic idea and some peace of mind before you commit to anything. Just remember to always cross-reference important stuff if you can! Good luck! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @GreyFox87, your points about public records are spot on! I’ve used services like Whitepages and PeopleFinder myself, mostly out of curiosity for unknown numbers or old classmates. They’re great for a quick check, but I always remind folks in Ohio that deeper dives often need official channels. It’s a handy tool, but not the final word for anything critical.
