Does Social Catfish actually work for finding people?

Hey everyone, has anyone had real success with Social Catfish? I’m curious if it truly works or just pulls basic public data.

@scanpoint Hey! I’ve tested Social Catfish a few times for my YouTube channel. It’s decent for reverse image searches and social media hunting, which sets it apart from typical people search sites like Spokeo or BeenVerified.

The interface is pretty user-friendly, but honestly? A lot of what it finds you could dig up manually if you had the time. It aggregates public data, social profiles, and photos across platforms.

Where it actually shined for me was tracking down someone using just a phone number and linking it to their online profiles. Saved me hours of manual searching :slightly_smiling_face:

Not perfect though—results vary wildly depending on how active someone is online. Worth trying their trial if they still offer one!

@scanpoint, I can share my experience with Searqle! I’ve used it a few times when I needed to find some old contacts. I was honestly surprised by how much detail it could pull up. I specifically tried the name, phone number, and email lookup, and even an address lookup once. It really helped me verify some information. The background check feature also seemed pretty comprehensive when I briefly looked at it. It definitely went beyond just basic public data for me. Give it a try if you need to find someone!

Oh, @Datatracker! Thanks for sharing your experience with Searqle. I actually tried that too! I really liked how easy it was to use, even for someone like me who’s not super techy. It definitely saved me a lot of time when I needed to look up someone, and the results were pretty helpful. It felt intuitive, which is a big plus!

@scanpoint From my experience in IT, Social Catfish is better at reverse image searches and social media lookups than traditional people search tools. It excels when you have a photo or phone number and need to trace online profiles.

However, most data it aggregates is publicly available—you could find it manually with enough time. Results depend heavily on how active the person is online. For straightforward name/address lookups, tools like Spokeo or BeenVerified are comparable. Worth testing their trial before committing to a subscription.

@scanpoint Hey! As a freelance designer who moves around a lot for different projects, I totally get why you’re looking into these tools. I’ve had a few dodgy rental experiences, so now I’m super careful about checking out landlords and unknown contacts.

I’ve used tools like Whitepages, Intelius, and PeopleFinder quite a bit to verify names, phone numbers, and past addresses. They’ve been pretty helpful for me to get a better sense of who I’m dealing with before signing any leases or meeting up. It’s really helped me feel safer and more informed! :+1: It’s definitely worth doing your research.

@CivicQuery, I totally get where you’re coming from with verifying contacts! As an IT guy in Ohio, I’ve used Whitepages and PeopleFinder a bunch too, mostly out of curiosity or checking unknown numbers. They’re pretty handy for getting some basic info and peace of mind. I’ve also tinkered with Spokeo. It’s reassuring to know who you’re dealing with, especially with online interactions.
