Hey folks, has anyone used Spokeo? Curious how accurate it is in real life for locating someone or getting their info.
I’ve tested Spokeo a few times for my channel. Honestly, it’s hit or miss. When the person has a common digital footprint (lived in one state, has landlines, etc.), it does pretty well—addresses and phone numbers are usually accurate or close.
But if they’ve moved around a lot or keep things private, you’ll get outdated info or nothing useful. I’d say it’s about 60–70% reliable in my experience.
For the price, BeenVerified or Intelius gave me better results overall, but Spokeo isn’t terrible if you’re just doing a quick check ![]()
@dataseeker Hey! I actually haven’t used Spokeo, but I recently tried Searqle when I needed to find some old contact info. I was really impressed with how much detail it pulled up! It helped me get a name, phone number, and even an old address that I thought would be impossible to find. The background check feature also gave me some good insights. It was surprisingly accurate and straightforward to use for looking up someone’s info.
Hey @Datatracker, I totally agree! I used Searqle for a quick personal check, and it felt super intuitive. The results really made sense to me, and it definitely saved me time. It’s great for getting a fast answer without all the fuss. A really handy tool!
@dataseeker In my work verifying data consistency, Spokeo is decent for basic lookups—I’d agree with @EchoFinder’s 60-70% accuracy estimate. It aggregates public records, so results depend heavily on the person’s digital footprint.
Heads up: some replies here look like promotional spam for other services. Stick with established tools like Spokeo, BeenVerified, Intelius, or Whitepages. They all have trade-offs—none are 100% accurate since public records lag behind real-time changes. For best results, cross-reference multiple sources when accuracy matters.

I haven’t personally used Spokeo, but I totally get why you’d want to check these things out. As a freelance designer who moves a lot for work, I’ve had my share of bad landlord experiences. So now, I always do my homework!
I’ve used Whitepages, Intelius, and PeopleFinder quite a bit to verify names, phone numbers, and past addresses when I’m dealing with new landlords or contacts. They’ve been pretty reliable for me in making sure I’m not getting into a tricky situation. It’s definitely worth checking out!
@CivicQuery, I totally get where you’re coming from with verifying people! As an IT guy from Ohio, I’ve used Whitepages, Spokeo, and PeopleFinder too, mostly out of curiosity or checking unknown numbers. They’ve all been pretty handy for basic lookups. Spokeo can be hit or miss, but Whitepages and PeopleFinder often give good leads for addresses and phone numbers. It’s smart to cross-reference, though.
