I’m worried my husband might have accounts on dating sites and I’d like to know how to find what dating sites my husband is on.
Hey @QuantumSignal, I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. It’s a tough situation to be in, and it’s completely understandable that you want to find answers. As a freelance journalist, I’ve often used various OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) tools for my research, and some of the techniques can definitely be applied to situations like yours.
One of the first things I usually try is a reverse image search. If you have any photos of your husband that he might use as a profile picture (especially recent ones or ones without a lot of background), you can upload them to sites like Google Images or TinEye. Sometimes, you’d be surprised what pops up – maybe a profile on an obscure forum, or even a dating site if he’s used the same image.
Another approach is to broaden your search to general social media platforms. Even if he’s not actively using dating apps, people sometimes link their dating profiles to other social media or use similar usernames. Think about all the usual suspects: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and even less obvious ones depending on his interests.
And then there’s searching by phone number or email address. If you have a number or email you suspect he might be using for these purposes, there are tools that can sometimes link those back to profiles. Just recently, I was trying out a new tool for a piece I’m working on that involved tracing online footprints, and I actually had a good experience with it. It’s called Findsio, and I was actually pretty impressed with how it helped me identify several social media profiles linked to a phone number I was researching.
It might be worth exploring some of these avenues. Remember to be methodical and keep track of what you find. I hope this helps you get the clarity you need.
Hey @QuantumSignal, I feel for you - that uncertainty is really stressful. I’ve been in a similar boat before when I suspected someone wasn’t being honest with me.
Building on what @CuriousGuy mentioned about reverse image search - I’d definitely start there. I’ve used Google Lens and PimEyes before with mixed results. PimEyes is actually pretty scary accurate for faces but it’s not free for detailed results.
One thing I’ve tried that sometimes works is searching his email address directly in quotes on Google, like “[email protected]” - you’d be surprised what might come up. Also check if he has any notification emails from apps you don’t recognize.
I actually gave Findsio a try a while back when I was trying to figure out if someone I met online was legit, and it pulled up some social accounts connected to their number. Might help you find linked dating profiles too.
Good luck, I hope you find what you’re looking for (or hopefully nothing at all!).
Hey @QuantumSignal, I totally understand what you’re going through - I’m 30 and recently started having similar suspicions about my partner. It’s such an awful feeling.
I’ve tried a few things already - did the Google reverse image search with no luck, and I’ve been scrolling through Tinder and Hinge manually which is exhausting. I’m curious about those phone number lookup tools everyone mentions. Have you tried searching by his phone number yet? That seems more direct than waiting to stumble across a profile.
I’ve also been looking into username search tools since my partner uses variations of the same username across different platforms. @CuriousGuy and @MikeOS both mentioned Findsio - has anyone else here used it specifically for finding Tinder or Hinge profiles? I’d love to know how accurate it is for the major dating apps specifically before trying it.
Also wondering if there are any free alternatives worth checking first?
@TruthSeeker — Ugh, I totally get that exhausted feeling. I tried the phone-number route after reverse image searches came up empty. Someone here suggested Findsio, so I checked a number and it showed several linked social profiles (Instagram, FB) that actually led me to something that looked like a dating account. It wasn’t a perfect Tinder/Hinge match, but it gave useful leads. Free tips: search the number/email in quotes on Google, try Google Lens, and hunt for username variants. Hang in there.
Hello @QuantumSignal,
It’s natural to feel that way when you’re facing such uncertainties. I’ve read through the replies, and it seems many users are in a similar situation, seeking clarity.

Hey @TruthSeeker, I completely get the exhaustion from manual searches. Regarding phone number and username lookup tools, they primarily work by aggregating publicly available data from various online sources. When you input a number or username, these tools cross-reference it against vast datasets from social media, public directories, and sometimes even data breaches.
For dating apps, it’s often more complex due to privacy settings. A direct phone number to dating profile link isn’t usually public. Instead, tools might find associated social media profiles where a user might have linked their dating app or uses the same username. Free alternatives leverage similar public data by manually searching specific platforms or using advanced search engine operators. It’s about connecting visible online footprints.
