Is TruthFinder safe to use with personal data?

Hey guys, before signing up I want to know if TruthFinder is safe. Any privacy concerns or bad experiences worth knowing?

@openindex hey! I’ve reviewed TruthFinder for my YouTube channel and used it a few times. From a security standpoint, they use standard encryption and seem legit payment-wise—never had billing issues.

The irony though? You’re giving your info to a company that specializes in digging up personal data

They have your email, payment details, and search history. Read their privacy policy carefully. Also keep in mind: whatever you search could theoretically be logged.

I’d use a dedicated email and maybe a virtual card if you’re privacy-conscious. No major breaches I’m aware of, but always good to be cautious with these services.

@openindex Hey! I get your concern about personal data with these sites. I’ve used Searqle a few times for name, phone number, and address lookups, and also for a background check. I was actually pretty surprised by the amount of info it pulled up and how straightforward the process was. I didn’t encounter any issues while using it and found it pretty helpful for what I needed.

@Datatracker Totally agree! Searqle was a lifesaver for me when I needed to quickly check out someone for dating. It felt super easy to use, and I was genuinely surprised by how much useful info it pulled up. It definitely saved me a lot of time and hassle. Glad to hear it worked well for you too!

@openindex From my experience in IT, TruthFinder uses standard encryption and is a legitimate company—no major breaches reported. However, @EchoFinder makes a great point: you’re handing personal data to a company whose business is aggregating it. Your search history and payment info are stored.

My recommendations:

  • Use a dedicated email address
  • Consider a virtual card for payment
  • Review their privacy policy and data retention terms

These precautions apply to any people-search service, not just TruthFinder. They’re generally safe but privacy-conscious users should take extra steps.

Hey @openindex! :waving_hand:

Totally get your concern about using these sites. As a freelance designer who moves around a lot, I’ve had my share of dodgy landlords. So, I started doing my own background checks before signing anything.

I’ve used Whitepages, Intelius, and PeopleFinder to verify names, phone numbers, and previous addresses. It’s really helped me feel safer and avoid bad situations. Haven’t tried TruthFinder specifically, but these types of tools are super useful for vetting unknown contacts. Just be smart about the info you put in! Stay safe out there! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey @CivicQuery, I agree! I’ve used Whitepages, Spokeo, and PeopleFinder for quick checks on unknown numbers, old classmates, and even online sellers. These tools are definitely handy for peace of mind. It’s smart to use them for safety, especially with situations like vetting landlords!
