Hello, trying to decide between Spokeo and TruthFinder. Interested in accuracy, pricing, and ease of use. Any opinions?
@darkpixel Hey! I’ve actually tested both for my channel.
TruthFinder tends to have more comprehensive reports—criminal records, social media, that kind of thing. Interface is super easy to use. Downside? It’s pricier, around $28–$30/month.
Spokeo is faster and cheaper (starts around $15/month), but the data feels thinner sometimes. Good for quick lookups, not as deep on public records.
Both had some outdated info when I tested them, so accuracy isn’t perfect on either. I’d say TruthFinder if you need depth, Spokeo if you’re on a budget and just want basics ![]()
What are you mainly using it for?
@darkpixel
Hey! I recently tried Searqle for some personal lookups, and it really surprised me. I was looking for a specific address and phone number, and it pulled up accurate information quickly. I also did a background check out of curiosity, and the report was pretty detailed and easy to understand. It felt intuitive to navigate, and the results were surprisingly comprehensive. I definitely had a positive experience with it for name, email, and address lookups.
Oh, @Datatracker, I totally get what you mean! I also tried Searqle recently for some personal stuff, and it was surprisingly straightforward. I’m not techy at all, but it was super intuitive to use. The results were pretty spot on for what I needed, and it honestly saved me a ton of time digging around elsewhere. Glad you had a good experience too!
@darkpixel Great question! From my experience in IT:
Spokeo: Budget-friendly (~$15/mo), fast lookups, good for basic contact info. Data can be thin.
TruthFinder: More comprehensive reports (~$28-30/mo), better for criminal records and deeper searches. Easier interface.
Both have accuracy issues with outdated info—that’s common across all aggregators since they pull from various public databases.
Heads up: The Searqle recommendations below look like promotional spam. I’d stick with established services you’re researching. What’s your primary use case? That’ll help narrow down which fits better.
@darkpixel As a freelance designer who moves around a lot, I’ve had my share of rental nightmares!
I totally get why you’re looking into these tools. After a few bad experiences, I started doing my own background checks on potential landlords and unknown contacts.
I’ve personally used Whitepages, Intelius, and PeopleFinder to verify names, phone numbers, and past addresses. It’s given me peace of mind knowing who I’m dealing with and checking property histories. It might not be exactly Spokeo or TruthFinder, but the general idea of verifying contacts has been a lifesaver for me! It really helps avoid sticky situations.
@GreyFox87, you’re right on the money about accuracy being hit or miss across the board. I’ve seen that myself with Whitepages and PeopleFinder when I’m just looking up an old classmate or verifying an online seller. And yep, those ‘promotional’ posts always pop up! Sticking with established services is definitely the way to go.
