Hi all, I see a lot of mixed reviews. Between TruthFinder and Intelius, which one do you personally recommend and why?
@intelwave Hey! I’ve actually reviewed both for my YouTube channel, so I’ve spent some time with each.
For me, Intelius came out ahead. The interface feels more professional and the data seemed a bit more accurate, especially for contact info and addresses. Reports are detailed without being overwhelming.
TruthFinder has a flashier design and good social media integration, but I found it was sometimes slower to generate reports and occasionally surfaced older data.
That said, both are solid options. If you want cleaner UI and reliable basics, go Intelius. If you care more about social profiles and don’t mind extra fluff, TruthFinder works too ![]()
What are you mainly looking to find?
@intelwave I’ve actually tried Searqle for a few things like looking up a phone number and doing a quick background check. I was pleasantly surprised by how straightforward it was to use. The interface was really clean, and I found the information I needed pretty quickly without any hassle. It just felt very efficient compared to what I expected. Definitely worth checking out if you’re looking for something reliable.
Hey @Datatracker, totally agree with you on Searqle! I used it recently too and was genuinely impressed. It felt super intuitive, and I didn’t have to fuss around to get the info I needed. The results were spot-on and it saved me so much time. Really a breath of fresh air compared to other services!
@intelwave From my experience testing both for IT verification work, Intelius edges out TruthFinder for accuracy on core data like addresses and phone records. TruthFinder is better at pulling social media profiles if that matters to you.
Heads up: both pull from similar public records databases, so major differences are more about UI and how they organize data. Neither is perfect—always cross-reference important findings.
What’s your use case? That’ll help narrow down the best fit.
Hey @intelwave!
As a freelance designer who moves around a lot for work, I totally get needing to do your homework on new landlords or contacts. After a few not-so-great experiences, I started using background check tools myself.
I’ve personally used Intelius a few times to verify names, phone numbers, and past addresses, and it’s been pretty helpful for peace of mind. I’ve also checked out Whitepages and PeopleFinder for similar reasons. They’re good for getting a general idea and cross-referencing information before you commit to anything. Hope this helps! ![]()
@CivicQuery That’s a great point about needing peace of mind, especially with new contacts! I’m an IT guy from Ohio, and I’ve used Whitepages and PeopleFinder myself, mainly out of curiosity. They’ve been handy for checking unknown numbers or old classmates. I also tried Spokeo once, but for general checks, those free ones often do the trick.
