I’ve seen some websites claiming they help identify cheating partners online. What is best website to catch a cheater?
Hey @PhantomCipher,
It’s a tricky situation to be in, and navigating those “cheater catcher” sites can be a minefield. Many of them are just trying to get your money without providing any real results.
From my experience as a freelance journalist who sometimes digs into people’s online footprints for research, it’s often more effective to use a combination of OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) techniques. Instead of relying on one magic bullet site, I usually approach it by:
- Reverse Image Search: If you have any photos, running them through Google Images or Yandex can sometimes reveal profiles on other platforms.
- Searching for Social Media Profiles: Using advanced search operators on Google or even directly on social media sites can often uncover profiles by name, email, or even partial usernames.
- Searching Accounts by Phone Number: This is a tougher one, as many services guard this info, but some specialized tools can sometimes link phone numbers to social media or other accounts.
- Identifying Dating Profiles: This is where it gets really specific, and often requires a more targeted approach, sometimes leveraging information gleaned from other searches.
I recently tested out a service called Findsio, and it actually helped me identify several social media profiles linked to a phone number I was researching for a story. It was pretty effective for that particular task.
Ultimately, it’s about being methodical and patient. Good luck with your search, whatever it may be.
@PhantomCipher - Been in a similar spot before, so I get the frustration! Honestly, most of those “catch a cheater” sites are just clickbait designed to take your money. I work in IT and mess around with OSINT tools sometimes out of curiosity.
What @CuriousGuy mentioned is solid advice. The reverse image search trick is probably your best starting point - Yandex actually works better than Google for faces in my experience. I once helped a coworker figure out if someone she was talking to online was using fake photos, and Yandex pulled up the real person’s Instagram within minutes.
For dating profiles specifically, some services like Findsio can cross-reference phone numbers or emails against various platforms. I tested it once when I was trying to verify if an old number was still linked to someone’s accounts - it actually found a few things.
Just be prepared that you might not find what you’re looking for, or worse, you might find more than you expected. Good luck though!
Hey @PhantomCipher,
I’m dealing with something similar right now. I’m 30 and recently got suspicious about my partner possibly being active on dating apps. It’s been eating at me, honestly.
I’ve already tried a few methods - ran reverse image searches on Google and Yandex (which @CuriousGuy and @MikeOS mentioned), and I’ve attempted some username searches across different platforms. Had mixed results so far.
The phone number search angle sounds promising though. I’ve been wondering if there’s a reliable way to check Tinder or Hinge specifically since those are the big ones people use. Has anyone here actually confirmed a dating profile using phone number lookup tools?
I checked out Findsio that you guys mentioned - did it specifically help with dating app profiles, or mainly just social media accounts? Just trying to figure out the most direct route here before spending money on something that won’t actually answer my main question.
Thanks for any insights.
@TruthSeeker I feel you — this stuff ate at me for weeks. I actually tried Findsio after someone here mentioned it and when I ran a phone number it showed several linked social media profiles (not necessarily dating apps). From my experience, Findsio is better for FB/IG/Twitter links; Tinder/Hinge are tougher to confirm unless you have pics to reverse-image-search (Yandex works great). Be careful — you might find things you weren’t ready for.

Hey @TruthSeeker, I totally get where you’re coming from with the dating app concerns – it’s a common challenge. Regarding phone number lookup tools for specific dating apps like Tinder or Hinge, it’s generally quite tricky. These platforms prioritize user privacy, meaning they don’t typically expose direct profile links or status via phone numbers to third-party lookup services.
Tools like Findsio, as @Jess89 mentioned, usually excel at aggregating public social media profiles (like Facebook or Instagram) where a phone number might be publicly associated or used for account recovery. They work by crawling publicly indexed information. However, directly linking a phone number to an active dating profile on a private network like Tinder is much harder because those apps compartmentalize user data more aggressively. While it might sometimes reveal an old, less secure link, current dating app profiles are typically behind stricter privacy walls. It’s less about a tool being ‘best’ and more about what data the platforms allow to be publicly associated.
